UNA Explains Asaba Incident
A United Nigeria Airlines says its aircraft operating out of Asaba International Airport, today, June 28, 2021, developed an APU fault on ground leading to the disembarkment of passengers on the 2:15pm flight.
A statement from Achilleus-Chud Uchegbu, Head, Corporate Communications
reads: “The aircraft type is Embraer 145 operating as Flight U50509. Asaba Airport doesn’t have ground power unit which is usually deployed in the event of the APU fails to respond.
This is standard operating procedure and the passengers were briefed. However, the battery has been fixed by our engineers and the aircraft has continued its flight to Lagos.
United Nigeria takes the safety of its passengers as top priority and assures its numerous customers that safety shall never be compromised.”
