TAAG Receives Third B787 Dreamliner, Strengthens Fleet

TAAG Angola Airlines has received its third Boeing 787 Dreamliner at Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport (NBJ).

This aircraft is the first 787-10 model to join the fleet. The aircraft, incorporated under a leasing arrangement, reflects the airline’s ambitious modernization process, a critical success factor on the ongoing transformation journey. The B787-10, registered as D2-TES, has a capacity for 367 passengers (24 in business class and 343 in economy class), joining the two Boeing 787-9 models incorporated by TAAG Angola Airlines earlier this year. The Boeing 787-10 represents the utmost version of the Dreamliner family.

In addition to greater passenger and cargo capacity, it also ensures optimized levels of fuel efficiency, highlighting the Angola flag carrier’s commitment to environmental sustainability through a significant reduction of CO₂ emissions. This state-of-the-art aircraft will empower connectivity for existing long-haul destinations but will also support the prospecting of new routes, as outlined in TAAG Angola Airlines Strategic Plan 2024-2029.

Simbolically, the aircraft which carries a commemorative stamp on its fuselage regarding the 50th Anniversary of Angola’s Independence, touched Angolan soil for the first time, on the National Celebration Day.

TAAG Angola Airlines reaffirms its commitment to operational excellence, improved passenger experience, and providing connectivity on a global scale.
