PricewaterhouseCoopers Audits Ibom Air, As Airline Signs Code-share Deal
The Chief Operating Officer of Ibom Air, Mr. George Uriesi says the airline is currently undergoing its first audit by PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Speaking at a webinar organized by Aviation Safety Round Table Initiative (ASRTI) with the theme, Utilizing Interlining & Code-share Agreements As Tools For Airlines Consumer Rights, Safety And Profitability, Uriesi also disclosed that Ibom Air just commenced the process of signing a code-share agreement with another local airline in October 2020 and that the deal would be launched in May 2021.
He said Ibom Air records 700 to 710 scheduled flights every month. He however noted that embarking on such agreement involved challenges such as finding an equally committed business partner with similar business culture in terms of organization, operational capacity and the discipline to see the herculean effort to get the code-share agreement start to end.
He said the success depends on track record of how quickly your partner can recover when things go wrong and that Ibom Air is currently training staff and integrating reservation systems in preparation for the deal’s execution.
