Keyamo Receives Second “Minister of The Year Award 2024” In One Week

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo (SAN) has been honoured once again as The Minister of The Year 2024 by the Board of Editors of The Sun Newspapers. This prestigious award which was handed to him by Ms. Diana Chen, Chairman, CIG Motors Limited, is his second, in the span of a week and reinforces his outstanding contributions to Nigeria’s aviation sector and his impactful leadership in the industry.

The glamorous ceremony, held on Saturday, March 1st, at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, was attended by top executives from the corporate world, oil and gas industry, banking sector, and notable political figures, all gathered to celebrate excellence across various sectors.

Accompanying the Minister to the event were top officials from the aviation industry, including: Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, mni – Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Capt. Chris Najomo – Director General, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku – Managing Director, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Prof. Charles Anosike – Director General, Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET).

Also present were key agency directors from NCAA and FAAN. On the attendance list were Mrs. Anastasia Gbem – Director of Human Resources, NCAA, Mahmood Abdullahi – Director of Operations, FAAN, Obiageli Orah – Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Debola Agunbiade – Director of Commercials and Business Development, Ayo Olatiregun – Director of Finance, Igbafe Afegbai – Director of Aviation Security, Jensen Asaba – Director of Corporate Services, Henry Agbebire – Director of Special Duties and Lekan Ladipo Thomas, Director of Cargo Operations.

The conferment of this second memento, bearing the same title—underscores the Minister’s exceptional leadership, reforms, and transformative policies in Nigeria’s aviation industry. His tenure has been marked by bold initiatives, infrastructure improvements, and strategic engagements aimed at positioning Nigeria as a global aviation hub.

Tunde Moshood, Special Adviser on Media and Communications to the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development says this latest accolade further cements his reputation as a visionary leader driving the transformation of Nigeria’s aviation landscape.
