Aviation Permanent Secretary, Meribole To Grace Airport Business Summit 2024
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Aviation & Aerospace Development, Dr Emmanuel Meribole has assured organizers of the All Nigeria Airport Airline Business Community of his attendance .
Meribole made his intention to attend the event known to Mr. Fortune Idu, the Coordinator of Airport Business Summit and Expo in Abuja during a meeting.
According to Idu who briefed the Permanent Secretary about Nigeria Airports Business Summit and Expo scheduled to be held from August 20 to 22, 2024, at the NIGAV Expo Centre at Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos, this event is the 9th edition and hosts all Nigerian airports stakeholders, and industry clients to a three-information business exchange, airport investment opportunity, marketing and lecture workshop designed to enrich participants’ knowledge of the compliance with airport business climate.
ABSE is the only dedicated Airport Business gathering in Nigeria, modelled after Airport Council International (ACI). It focuses on implementing the Council’s reports, findings, and best practices in Nigeria to enhance airport performance in supporting air connectivity.
The theme of the year summit is “Addressing Airport Viability as a Key to Successful Aviation Business Ambition,” which aligns with the aviation economic revamp plan of the present administration by improving revenue generation.
The event will feature Airport Master Class on Airport Revenue Generation, Airport Viability Discussion, Addressing Airport Safety and Challenges and Airport Logistics And Cargo Operations.
“We have invited the Honorable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr Festus Keyamo alongside heads of aviation agencies as special guests. We also have the Honourable Commissioner of Transport from various Airport states participating at the summit. Hon. Aminu Suleman Takuma, Commissioner of the Ministry of Industry Trade Investment and Private Sector Development will represent Governor Umaru Mohammed Bago. Mrs Patricia Ifeoma Igwebuike, Esq, the Anambra State Commissioner for Transport will also be in attendance.
The Managing Director of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku will deliver an airport viability plan as the lead speaker in the open plenary. She will also chair the special Airport Manager forum on August 20, 2024 from 10am with Dr. Richard Aisuebeogun. This is where the Airport managers will demonstrate their competence to market and promote business opportunities within their airports. This session will precede the Airport Revenue and Route Development workshop by Mr. Josiah Chinyama Mvula of Zambia Airports Corporation Limited and Apple Lee from Munich Airport.
ABSE 2024 has all the mix in the industry, from a regulatory authority, NCAA to Handling companies such as NAHCO, and SAHCO to airlines such as Arik Air, Ibom Air and Aero. Hanger, Equipment and service companies will also be attending the event with 14 Airport states already booked down to showcase at the event.
This is a game-changing programme for the airport managers and the first airport marketing contest for the airports which is aimed at improving Nigeria’s airport business profile.
