United Nigeria Airlines To Establish MRO Facility
The Chairman of United Nigeria Airlines (UNA), High Chief Obiora Okonkwo (PHD) says the airline has started the process of acquiring a space with Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to enable it establish its own Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) facility.
Addressing members of the League of Airports & Aviation Correspondents (LAAC) at the Saleh Dunoma Centre, Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, Okonkwo said the airline had at inception, set for itself, a target of 24 months for capacity to conduct C-check on its own facility but had already gone two months behind schedule because FAAN was having issues with clearing space at the airport to enable the agency do space allocation.
He said the airline was in touch with some technical partners on the MRO facility project, adding that the facility when established, would serve both UNA and other airlines
