TAAG Angola’s B787-9 Dreamliner Completes Its Inaugural Flight

TAAG Angola Airlines has launched its inaugural commercial passenger flight using the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on the Luanda – Johannesburg – Luanda route.
The aircraft, designated D2 – TEQ, has recently been incorporated into the airline’s fleet to serve
intercontinental and regional routes, marking a historic milestone as it is the first time the Boeing 787 model has been utilized in TAAG’s operations.
Nelson Rodrigues de Oliveira, CEO of TAAG Angola Airlines, emphasized the significance of this occasion: “The inaugural flight of TAAG’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and the incorporation of this aircraft into our regular flight schedule represent a significant milestone in our operations and a
memorable moment for our entry-into-service project team. Indeed, this marks a new era for TAAG in terms of enhancing the customer experience aboard state-of-the-art equipment.”
The modernization of the fleet and the enhancement of service quality to meet excellence standards are key focus areas for the company, as outlined in TAAG’s Strategic Plan for 2024-2029. The configuration of the TAAG Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner is notable for its total capacity of 313 passengers, which includes 16 in business class, 21 in premium economy, and 276 in economy class.
This model is also distinguished by factors related to sustainability, including reduced noise pollution, lower fuel consumption compared to the previous generation, enhanced passenger comfort through a more spacious cabin environment, and integrated technology.
