TAAG Angola Airlines To Assume AFRAA Rotative Presidency In 2025

TAAG Angola Airlines says it will assume AFRAA’s rotating presidency in 2025, a role entrusted to company CEO, Nelson de Oliveira.

The airline participated in the 56th Annual General Assembly of the African Airlines Association (AFRAA),

held in Cairo, Egypt from November 17 to 19. The event gathered over 500 high-level delegates from the aviation industry across Africa, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and the Americas.

In addition to presentations and panel discussions around hot topics related to civil aviation, the summit was a great opportunity for networking, bilateral meetings, and showcasing products, services, and new technologies.

Highlight of the event was announcement of Angola to host the 57th AFRAA Annual General Assembly in 2025, with TAAG Angola Airlines as the official facilitator. This achievement reinforces Angola’s growing prominence in Africa and theglobal aviation landscape, solidifying its position as a strategic regional hub.

TAAG delegation at the AFRAA ASA in Cairo was led by the airline´s Chairman, António dos Santos Domingos, who delivered a keynote speech highlighting the strengths of Angola and the flagship company, as the next summit’s organizers.

The AFRAA Annual General Assembly is recognized as Africa’s premier aviation forum, bringing together leaders, experts, and decision-makers to discuss the challenges and opportunities within the sector. Attendees include CEOs and executives of African airlines, representatives from key organizations such as ICAO, IATA, or AFCAC, civil aviation authorities, airport operators, air navigation service providers, aircraft and engine manufacturers, component suppliers, and other relevant stakeholders. This year’s event focused on multiple topics, such as the development of air transport in Africa, strategies to integrate the continent and enhance economic connectivity, innovative solutions for the sector, technological advancements, sustainability, and competitiveness.
