Keyamo Discloses First Condition For Airports Concession Bidders

The Minister of Aviation & Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo (SAN) has disclosed the initial condition that must be met by potential concessionaires of airports under the proposed airports concession policy.

Speaking to aviation journalists yesterday in Lagos, Keyamo said “we are advertising very soon for concessions. However, we want to carry the unions along. This is my major focus in this drive. I don’t want to do it like the previous ones where there were complaints either from within or outside. There was resistance by the unions, resistance from other people, resistance from even the co-bidders that the processes were not transparent enough. The first thing is my brothers and sisters in the union. Their jobs are safe. One of the first conditions we will give whoever wants to do concessions with us is that you carry out liabilities along, the workers. Make sure their jobs are safe. Then, we can start talking. If they are not safe, we can’t start talking.”
