FAAN Embarks On Forecast Based Airport Infrastructure Development

The Managing Director and Chief Executive of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku says the Authority has done “a forecast of our passenger traffic over the next 15 to 20 years.”

Speaking during the commissioning of the newly remodelled Wing E of Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Kuku said that the “new terminal was not built in isolation. It was built to complement the existing terminal.”

“I do want to say that our passenger traffic remains strong. Yes. There might be economic realities that affect nations globally,” but “you have seen that we have expanded our facilities and are planning for the future,” she said.

Kuku emphasized her belief that passenger traffic is largely driven by Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth and economic growth, assuring that “you will continue to see infrastructure upgrades and modernization.
