Aviation Unions Issue Services Withdrawal Notice Over NAMA Staff Remuneration

The Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (ATSSSAN), National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE), Association of Nigeria Aviation Professionals (ANAP) and Amalgamated Union of Public Corporations, Civil Service, Technical and Recreational Services Employees (AUPCTRE) have issued a seven-day notice of withdrawal of services from Thursday, July 30th, 2025 if outstanding issues of workers’ remuneration are not addressed.

A statement jointly signed by Comrade Frances Akinjole, Principal Deputy General Secretary, ATSSSAN, Comrade Ocheme Aba, NUATE General Secretary, Comrade Alo Lawrence, AUPCTRE Deputy General Secretary and Comrade Abdul Rasaq Saidu, Secretary General of ANAP says “in view of the precarious situations being faced by workers of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) due to the non-improvement in the workers’ remuneration despite the regime of the new minimum wage; whereas a salary adjustment negotiation had been concluded with management of NAMA), and the outcome of the negotiation has been lying unimplemented for over eight (8) months now, the rank and file of our members, especially through their various professional associations have expressed in writing, their frustrations against the non-implementation of the salary adjustments agreement that has been lying fallow and gathering dust on the tables of approving authorities.

Recognizing that notice of ultimatum has already been issued and served by our

branches, which our national unions have adopted, if by the next seven days, situations remain the same, all workers in NAMA will commence a withdrawal of their services nationwide.

Every user of the services provided by NAMA and the general public are therefore

advised to take notice of this information. To be forewarned is to be forearmed!”

A copy of the notice was sent to each of Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Honourable Minister of Labour and Employment, Managing Director / CEO, NAMA, all Federal Government Security Agencies and Police Commissioners in the airports, all NAMA Staff and the General Public.
