FAAN JMTF Apprehends 16 For Touting, Other Crimes At Airport Environment

In light of the need to sanitize the airport and the airport environment, the Joint team of the Joint Monitoring Task Force (JMTF) and the Aviation Security Crime Investigation and Intelligence Unit (AVSEC CII) of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) on Tuesday, 15th August, 2023, conducted a raid at the Murtala Muhammed Airport landside, carparks and access roads, arresting 16 suspects for various crimes.
FAAN’s Director, Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Abdullahi Yakubu-Funtua says in a statement that in the course of the raid, Sixteen (16) suspects were apprehended for touting, hawking, carrying out unauthorized foreign exchange operations and scavenging.
He said they have all been transferred to the Nigerian Police Command through the AVSEC CII for further action.
