Why NCAA Held Workshop For ATOs, By Najomo

The Director General, Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Capt. Chris Najomo has explained why NCAA is holding a three-day workshop on managing compliance among Approved Training Organizations with the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations (Nig. CARs), which commenced today.

In his opening remarks read at the programme, Capt. Najomo said: “Today, we face significant challenges in maintaining high standards of quality and compliance within our training organizations. Rapid advancements in technology, evolving regulatory frameworks, and the increasing complexity of aviation operations necessitate a proactive and collaborative approach.

This workshop is an opportunity for us to share insights, discuss best practices, and foster a culture of transparency and accountability in our training programmes.”

He said there is a “critical role that ATOs play in our aviation ecosystem. These organizations are the foundation upon which we build well-trained professionals who ensure the safety and efficiency of our aviation operations. The Industry, aviation professionals, and ultimately, the traveling public depend on the rigorous training and compliance measures that we establish together.”

The training will explore various aspects of compliance management, including regulatory requirements, evaluation methodologies, and mechanisms for continuous improvement.

Najomo appealed to participants to engage openly, ask questions, and share experiences.

In closing, he said: “Together, let us work diligently to ensure that our Approved Training Organizations not only meet but exceed the expectations set forth by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations.”
