Why Industry Leaders Should Attend Stakeholders’ Fora, By Yadudu

The former Managing Director/Chief Executive of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Capt. Hamisu Yadudu has frowned at the absence of Chief Executive Officers of airlines and some critical industry leaders from conferences and gatherings where issues that affect the industry are being discussed.

Moderating a panel session at the 28th Annual Conference of the League of Airport & Aviation Correspondents (LAAC) held at Providence Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, under the theme, Aviation Survivability Amidst A Challenging Macro-Economic Environment,” Yadudu said unless industry leaders attend such fora, exchange ideas, learn from one another and take practical steps to implement resolutions from such meetings, the industry may not grow. He said stakeholders need to hear from one another, adding that it is necessary for the industry to develop a feedback mechanism so that progress can be made.

Yadudu further said that discussions made on the industry about airlines and agencies should always factor in the air traveler since any decision taken will eventually affect the passenger.

He said local airlines need to go into codeshare, stating that codeshare means more progress for the industry, more opportunities and less flight delays that affect the passenger.
