What Aviation Fuel Means To Aviation, By Stakeholders
The Minister of Aviation & Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo (SAN) says “aviation fuel sits at the very heart of airline operations. It does not only represent a key cost driver for airlines but also a strategic index of national logistics and economic vitality.”
The Minister, who was represented by Mr. Henry Agbebire said this in his Goodwill Message delivered at the CITA Energies Colloquium held at Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja under the theme, Aviation Fuel Business: The Scenario and the Metaphor.
In his presentation, The Chief Executive Officer of CITA Energies Limited, Dr. Thomas Ogungbangbe said “aviation fuel is the lifeblood of air transport, powering economic mobility, tourism, logistics, and national defense. In Nigeria, it forms a critical part of the economy and transport infrastructure, supporting both domestic and international connectivity.”
In his keynote speech, former Managing Director, Chief Executive of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and international air transport professional, Dr. Richard Aisuebeogun said “the aviation fueling sector is far more than a support service. It is the very lifeblood of aviation safety, reliability, and economic resilience.”
In her Goodwill Message, FAAN’s current Managing Director, Chief Executive, Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku said “the aviation fuel business has become both a national concern and an opportunity for innovation.”
The Chairman of Avifuel Limited, Capt. Augustine Okon in his presentation, described the aviation fuel market as “the invisible engine behind our skies. Without Jet A-1, our airplanes are just beautifully painted sculptures parked on the tarmac.
