Thunderstorm Destroys LAAC Secretariat, Equipment, Properties Damaged

The League of Airports and Aviation Correspondents (LAAC) Secretariat, suffered unquantifiable damages to its structure as well as properties and assets, following Sunday’s early morning thunderstorm which blew off the League’s Secretariat roof and destroyed the offices, equipment and furniture.
Affected are the League’s printers, desktop computers , standing fans, air conditioner sets, a refrigerator, television sets, stabilizers and the furniture. Also destroyed were official documents and the League’s magazine library.
Secretary of LAAC, Mr. Abel Orukpe who spoke on the unfortunate situation said the extent of the damage was yet to be determined as the executives are still sifting through the destruction to recover anything they can.
He said: “I was on my way to church when I received the news of the natural disaster. I had to take a detour and when I got to the secretariat, words could not express what I found.”
“To be honest, I did not know where to start from, but we managed to salvage what we could.”
