TAAG Introduces Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner On Lisbon Route

TAAG Angola Airlines has introduced the Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner on its Luanda–Lisbon–Luanda route, marking the aircraft’s first commercial operation on the airline’s European network and representing a new milestone in the modernization of its long-haul fleet.

The deployment of the Boeing 787-10 on TAAG’s flagship intercontinental route follows the successful completion of the aircraft’s certification by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). This achievement strengthens the airline’s ability to meet the growing demand for travel between Angola and Portugal while reinforcing TAAG’s role in connecting Angola with key international markets.

During the initial phase of operations, the Boeing 787-10 will operate two weekly frequencies between Luanda and Lisbon, departing Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport on Friday and Saturday evenings, with return services departing Humberto Delgado Airport in Lisbon on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Lisbon remains TAAG’s leading intercontinental destination and consistently records one of the highest load factors across the airline’s international network.

Air traffic between Angola and Portugal continues to be driven by the strong economic, institutional and cultural ties between the two countries, serving passengers travelling for business, tourism, and visits to family and friends. With a capacity of 367 passengers, including 24 seats in Business Class and 343 seats in Economy Class, the Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner incorporates a new generation of technological and operational innovations designed to enhance the long-haul travel experience.

Every seat is equipped with an individual next-generation in-flight entertainment system, while the Business Class cabin features fully lie-flat seats designed to provide superior comfort, privacy and rest throughout the journey. The introduction of the Boeing 787-10 on the Lisbon route forms part of TAAG’s fleet renewal programme and supports the airline’s strategy to strengthen Angola’s international connectivity. With this deployment, the Dreamliner family now operates TAAG services to Europe, Asia and the Americas, further consolidating the airline’s position as Angola’s national carrier, supporting mobility, trade, tourism, investment and the country’s economic development.
