Sierra Leone’s DGCA Prioritizes Safety, Security
The Director General of Sierra Leone Civil Aviation Authority (SLCAA), Madam Musayeroh Barrie, who happens to be the youngest Director General of Civil Aviation Authority says safety and security constitutes the priority of her agency.
Speaking at a reception welcome held for Overland Airways on its inaugural flight between Lagos and Freetown with a state-of-the-art Embraer 175 aircraft, Barrie said any airline operating in Sierra Leone must have met safety and security benchmarks.
“Our priorities are safety and security. We will provide a friendly environment for airlines to invest,” she said, adding that Overland Airways is the second airline commencing flights into Freetown International Airport within the short period she has spent as Director General.
She said she had enjoyed the full support of key stakeholders in the sector and government commitment, which have been contributory factor to the successes. She commended Overland Airways management for choosing Sierra Leone as one of its destinations.
