NCAA DG Endorses Nigeria Cabin Crew Contest, King, Queen Of The Air Award

The Director General of Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Capt. Chris Najomo has pledged his support, as the nation’s regulatory body for aviation, to the Nigeria King and Queen of the Air Award.
This national contest aims to promote better conduct among cabin crew and enhance in-flight aviation practices. In recent years, the NCAA has partnered with and participated in the Nigeria Aviation Award and Ministerial Dinner, organized by FCI International Limited, the owners of the NIGAV Centre, to support the national cabin crew contest that produces the Nigeria King and Queen of the Air.
Capt. Najomo, who welcomed the reigning King and Queen of the Air, Mr. Tyger Opunabo from Arik Air, and Miss Chinaza Miracle Okechukwu from Value Jet, at the NCAA headquarters in Abuja, praised the concept of the NKQA as innovative and brilliant, beneficial for the industry in promoting better services and raising awareness of the crucial roles of cabin crew. He encouraged the King and Queen to continue being exemplary Aviation Ambassadors, representing all Airlines’ Cabin Crew, Hosts, and Hostesses.
Furthermore, Fortune Idu, the founder of this esteemed aviation-specific programme NKQA, explained that the King and Queen of the Air are embarking on their final goodwill roadshows to express gratitude for the support and collaboration they have received during their year-long reign and also to pave the way for the next air ambassador to be announced on April 11, 2025.
He also emphasized that this year’s competition will be particularly interesting, with over 12 contestants scheduled for the final live onstage contest. The winners of the NKQA will serve as national aviation ambassadors of goodwill and lead a safety-critical campaign for the industry.
