Mozambique Invests $600 Million On Airport Expansion In Seven Years

The Director General of Mozambique Civil Aviation Authority, Mr. Emmanuel Chavez says his country’s government invested $600 million on airport expansion projects between 2008 and 2015.

Speaking at the African Air Transport Convention & Expo held in Lome, Togo, June 15 to 19, 2026, Chavez said Maputo airport expansion is one of the projects and that its masterplan was finalized in October 2025. He said the country has huge tourism potentials.
