FAAN Director Says FAAN Is Pursuing A Culture Change For Airport Users
The Director of Public Affairs & Consumer Protection at Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs. Obiageli Orah says her Directorate has embarked on various measures, aimed at changing the culture of both airport personnel, users of airports across the country and the general public.
Speaking as a member of a panel on airports revenue planning, viability and development at the 9th Airport Business Summit and Expo held in Lagos on August 20 to 22, 2024 under the Theme: “Airport Viability is Key to Successful Aviation Business Ambition,” Orah cited an example of an incident of drug crime allegation against FAAN staff and how the directorate investigated the issue, discovered and informed the public that the suspect was not a FAAN staff but a staff of another organization. She said the allegation came because of the perception that anyone working at the airport could be a FAAN staff.
She noted as part of efforts in this regard, FAAN is producing a standard excursion handbook for orientation of students from both primary, secondary and tertiary institutions visiting the airports for excursion.
She stated that the directorate had also been involved in publicity of FAAN’s activities and resolution of consumer protection issues since she assumed office.
