African Travel Commission Convenes Tourism Summit, Exhibition In Lagos

In conjunction with the Economic Community of West African States [ECOWAS], and in strategic partnership with the African Development Bank Group [AfDB], the African Travel Commission (ATC) will for the first time in the history of Africa’s organized travel and tourism advocacy, convene a high-level Tourism Summit and Exhibition in Lagos.

The event is scheduled to hold from February 11–12, 2026, at Eko Hotels & Suites, Lagos, Nigeria and is being organized in collaboration with the Nigerian Tourism Development Authority [NTDA].

Theme of the summit is Accelerating Africa’s Tourism Growth through Innovation, Partnerships and Sustainable Investments and it will convene aviation authorities, airline executives, tourism leaders, policymakers, investors, development partners, and the media to explore strategies for tourism growth, air connectivity, route development, aviation policy reform, infrastructure investment, and the role of aviation in driving Africa’s tourism and economic integration agenda.

There will be high-level plenary and policy dialogue sessions on aviation–tourism synergy, air transport liberalization, infrastructure development, and sustainability; Exhibition and B2B marketplace for destinations, airlines, airports, and aviation service providers; Capacity-building workshops for aviation and tourism professionals; Networking Gala and Awards Night celebrating excellence in African tourism and aviation.

In recognition of its respected role as a leading aviation policy think tank and advocacy platform in Nigeria, Aviation Safety Round Table Initiative (ASRTI) is expected to deliver a goodwill message or participate in high-level panel discussions focusing on aviation policy, air connectivity, SAATM implementation, infrastructure development, and the critical role of aviation in unlocking Africa’s tourism potential and to engage with public and private sector stakeholders to advance practical solutions for a more efficient, competitive, and sustainable African aviation ecosystem.

ASRTI’s institutional insights and industry leadership will significantly enrich the Summit deliberations and contribute to shaping actionable policy and investment frameworks linking aviation and tourism development in Nigeria and across Africa.
