Delta Introduces Seasonal Lagos–New York Service For Festive Peak Travel

Delta Air Lines has started to operate a seasonal nonstop Lagos–New York (LOS–JFK) service from December 2, 2025 and will continue until January 16, 2026, providing additional capacity during Nigeria’s busiest international travel period.

The six-week operation responds to strong festive-season demand and complements Delta’s daily, year-round Lagos–Atlanta service.

The seasonal route is being operated exclusively with Delta’s Airbus A330-900neo, one of the airline’s most modern and fuel-efficient widebody aircraft, known for its spacious cabin design and enhanced customer comfort.

“The festive season consistently sees a surge in outbound and inbound travel for Nigerians, and we’re delighted to provide an additional nonstop option to New York during this peak period,” said Mary Gbobaniyi, Delta Air Lines Manager, Sales, West Africa.

“With the state-of-the-art A330-900neo, travellers can look forward to a world-class onboard experience, alongside convenient connectivity through Delta’s New York-JFK hub,” Mary added.

Designed to serve the increase in holiday travel demand, the seasonal service will provide Nigerians with expanded and more convenient travel options during the festive period, particularly those with family and connections in key metropolitan areas such as Texas, Illinois, Maryland, Virginia, Washington and New York.

Customers on the seasonal route will enjoy an enhanced onboard experience featuring Delta One Suites with fully lie-flat beds and chef-curated meals, Delta Premium Select with wider seats, deeper recline and elevated dining, Delta Comfort offering extra legroom and dedicated overhead bins and Delta Main, our standard onboard experience. Customers throughout the aircraft can also take advantage of seatback entertainment at every seat showcasing Nollywood, Hollywood and international content as well as access to fast, free Wi-Fi for SkyMiles Members.

Delta continues to invest in the Nigerian market, marking nearly two decades of uninterrupted service to Lagos. The airline operates from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport with seamless connections to destinations across the United States.
