AAAU Readies For Establishment Of Faculty Of Engineering

As part of ongoing preparations for the establishment of the Faculty of Engineering at the African Aviation and Aerospace University (AAAU), Abuja, a delegation from the University embarked on a facility tour to the School of Engineering and Sustainable Development, De Montfort University (DMU), United Kingdom.

The meeting focused on faculty development discussions and the inspection of relevant facilities at DMU. This initiative forms part of AAAU’s strategic plan to commence academic programmes in Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering, aimed at equipping the next generation of aviation professionals with the technical expertise and practical skills required for the evolving aviation and aerospace industry.

The collaboration also seeks to identify essential infrastructure, laboratories, and workshops necessary for the smooth take-off of the new faculty.

Representing AAAU were the Registrar, Dr. Mustapha Sheikh Abdullahi; Head of Department, Aviation Business, Dr. Endurance Keyamo; and Dr. Joel Adams of the Royal Air Force. The DMU team was led by Dr. Richard Cross, Duncan Hepworth, and Dr. John Asu.

The visit marked a significant step towards fostering international academic partnerships and ensuring that AAAU’s Faculty of Engineering meets global standards in aerospace education and research.
