NAMA MD Honoured For Exemplary Leadership, Ethical Excellence
The Managing Director/Chief Executive of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Engr. Ahmed Umar Farouk, has been honoured with the National Integrity, Leadership, and Development Award for his outstanding commitment to ethical governance, transparency, and transformational leadership in Nigeria’s aviation sector.
The award, conferred by the Centre for Ethical Conduct Orientation and Empowerment (CECOE) during its 2025 Summit and Awards in Abuja, recognized Engr. Farouk’s visionary leadership, which has repositioned NAMA as the Most Efficient Aviation Agency in the country.
In the citation presented by the organizers, CECOE described Engr. Farouk as “a visionary technocrat and reformer in the aviation sector who represents a rare blend of technical competence and ethical clarity.” The Centre noted that under his leadership, NAMA has demonstrated a strong culture of integrity, transparency, and accountability, setting new benchmarks for efficiency and professionalism in airspace management and safety services.
The recognition, according to CECOE, reflects Engr. Farouk’s “transformational approach to leadership, which continues to strengthen Nigeria’s aviation infrastructure, institutional credibility, and operational efficiency.”
Engr. Farouk’s tenure has been marked by notable strides in modernizing the agency’s systems, enhancing staff capacity, and fostering a culture of ethical responsibility across all directorates. His focus on accountability and service excellence has earned NAMA widespread commendation from stakeholders in the aviation industry.
