BASL COO Says Good Airport Design Is Foundation For Good Passenger Experience

The Chief Operating Officer of Bicourtney Aviation Services Limited (BASL), Operators of Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 2 (MMA2), Mr. Remi Jibodu has said that “the design of an airport is the foundation for having a good passenger experience.”

Speaking at a panel session held during the 10th Airports Business Summit & Expo (ABSE) held yesterday in Lagos, Jibodu said “the success of airport facilitation begins from the design. If you start an airport with a very poor design, you are going to struggle.”

He said one of the solutions to the challenge of passenger processing is to digitalize the process of checking in, stating that apart from easing the passenger processing, “it also provides data for the airport for purposes of planning.

He further said there are airports that intend to scale up their revenues, but the design of their airport building is a challenge.

“We have to be futuristic in designing an airport to ensure development,’ he said.

Jibodu commended the Minister of Aviation & Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo (SAN) for taking measures to empower Nigeria’s airlines, stating that without the airlines, the airports will not need to exist.
