Electric Power Cut In Portugal Disrupts TAAG Angola’s Luanda-Lisboa-Luanda Operations

TAAG Angola Airlines’ operations have been disrupted with flight cancellation following the cancelling and diversion of flights to alternative airports by Portuguese authorities due to power outages.

Due to the power outage recorded in several European countries, particularly in Portugal, the operation of airports, including Humberto Delgado Airport in Lisbon, is very limited, with disruption in the departures and arrivals of various services. In this context, the Portuguese authorities are canceling and diverting numerous flights to alternative airports.

TAAG Angola Airlines, in line with the Angolan authorities and entities in the civil aviation ecosystem, following the evolution of this event, canceled the flights scheduled for yesterday, April 28, 2025 on the Luanda-Lisbon-Luanda route, respectively, the DT653 (Lisbon – Luanda) and DT650 (Luanda – Lisbon)

service.

The airline says it will continue to monitor the situation and update impacted passengers through the usual channels about the extension of this interruption on the Luanda – Lisbon connection.

This electrical failure at European airports poses a risk to operational safety, leading TAAG and the competent authorities to adopt the cancellation of services as the most appropriate preventive measure.

TAAG Angola Airlines has expressed regrets for any inconvenience caused to customers and passengers on the mentioned routes due to this unpredictable event.
