FAAN Trains, Recertifies Over 3000 AVSEC Personnel, Over 3,238 Personnel On Safety

The Managing Director, Chief Executive of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku says the organization has been able to “for the first time last year, train and recertify over 3,000 aviation security personnel that are actually being deployed.”
Speaking in Lagos during the Stakeholders’ Engagement focused on Transforming the Aviation Industry through Strategic Partnerships: Advancing Airport Sustainable Development, Kuku said apart from strengthening the workforce of FAAN’s aviation security personnel, “also from a capacity building perspective, we were able to train over 3,238 staff from a safety perspective. So this also includes operators and handlers who are working on the airside. We completed the recertification of both MMIA and with the support of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority,” she said.
