Lagos Aviation Academy Aims To Double Capacity In Five Years
The Managing Director of Lagos Aviation Academy (LAA), Mr. Bankole Bernard says the institution is looking towards having double the capacity it currently has within the next five years.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with AVIATION MONITOR, Bernard said: “We are hoping that we continue to expand our horizon. I know where we were five years ago and between that five years ago and now, we have expanded from our four classrooms to eight bigger classrooms and we are running courses concurrently. So, in the next five years, we see us being able to double what we have now. Maybe we look forward to opening another office of our Aviation Training Organization (ATO) on the Lagos Island to be able to take care of youths coming from that axis.”
Bernard said: “One of the critical things that we teach, apart from the practical thing for the students, is the customer service course to ensure that they know how to be polite to passengers. They know how to write their CVs, how to deal with their colleagues, how to deal with their employers. When we give them that kind of training, they are better qualified in the market place. That is what we do.”
He said LAA students are being trained not only for Nigeria airlines but also, for the global aviation market.
It could be recalled that LAA on June 25, 2024 opened a new training facility at Ikeja, Lagos, containing eight big classrooms as against the previous four classrooms. The new classrooms are kitted with better study tools and a more comfortable learning environment.
