International Women’s Day: FAAN Pledges Continued Partnership With NAAPE On Industry Progress
The Managing Director and Chief Executive of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku says FAAN will continue to partner with National Association of Aircraft Pilots & Engineers (NAAPE) “for greater accomplishments. FAAN is ready for stronger collaboration with you as we journey together to take aviation industry to the next level.”
Speaking at the at the 2026 International Women’s Day celebration of NAAPE held in Lagos over the weekend, Kuku, who was represented by her Deputy General Manager, One Stop Shop, Mrs. Ujueze William Jumbo said the annual event has been a sensitization platform for advocacy and galvanizing women for purposeful launch into the future.
She saluted the “doggedness of women professionals who are members of this association. You are doing a lot in pointing the right direction for younger Females who may wish to choose a career in the aviation sector. You are truly a source of invaluable motivation and positive influence for the girls This association has continued to create platforms to showcase windows of opportunities for the younger generation. This is an immeasurable act of giving which aligns with the theme of this year’s event “Give to Gain.” Women are naturally givers; givers of life and givers of opportunities too. At this event, you give a very important direction to the younger ones. I must say that if we must gain our youths in the future, we must give them guidance.”
Kuku further said “we live in a society where mentorship is dwindling rapidly every day. It is my conviction that you are ably filling this gap. It is also important to commend your professional contributions to the growth and smooth operations in the aviation industry. Without the pilots and engineers, the sector will literally not function. The industry depends on you heavily for operations and success. Frankly speaking, you have lived up to expectations and have also distinguished yourselves in your professional calling in the sector, delivering world-class service at all times. You have demonstrated capacity and excellence and we are indeed proud of your achievements.”
