NAHCO Continues Strides In CSR, Sponsors Schools Debate

The Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (nahco aviance) has continued its impactful Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives along a wide spectrum of its host communities with the latest being the sponsorship of school debate for primary schools in Oshodi – Isolo Local Government Area of Lagos State.

The Company which reiterated its commitment to the implementation of meaningful projects in communities in its operations areas said it would exceed all expectations in the area of CSR.

The Group Managing Director/CEO of the company, Mr. Olumuyiwa Olumekumn, who was represented by the Assistant General Manager, Corporate Communications, Mr. Tayo Ajakaye, during the prize awarding ceremony to winners at the event said, over the years, NAHCO had always made timely intervention in host communities in key areas including provision of borehole water, donation of relief materials to IDPs and sponsorship of education infrastructure.

Olumekun who congratulated the winners of this year’s edition, Mafoluku Primary School, said the performances of the three finalists were indeed excellent. He also applauded the silver winner, State Primary School, Oshodi; and the bronze winner, Oshodi Model Primary School and 4th, Larinde Primary School.

The Executive Chairman, Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, Otunba Kehinde Oloyede Almaroof who was personally present at the final showdown commended NAHCO for the sponsorship of the competition. “This is really very impressive and we must thank NAHCO for this initiative,” the Chairman said.

Otunba Almaroof also urged the Company to sustain the sponsorship of the event while urging the Local Government Education Authority to increase the frequency of such competitions among schools in the LG area.

The championship, themed “Inspiring Young Voices, Building Tomorrow,” provided a platform for primary school students in Oshodi – Isolo Local Government Area of Lagos State to sharpen their oratory skills. It also provided an opportunity for the students to cultivate a spirit of healthy rivalry, boost public speaking confidence, and offer enriching experiences beyond their traditional classroom settings.

The winner went home with half a million naira. Second-place winner got three hundred thousand naira while the third-place winner got two hundred thousand naira.

NAHCO has consistently supported its host communities through a broad spectrum of strategic CSR initiatives, proving that its leadership extends far beyond the tarmac. For NAHCO, community development is not a mere obligation, but a fundamental part of its commitment to fostering sustainable growth and empowering the people within the environments where it operates.
